Whelp, Deniece has been sending out some pictures via SMS and sharing stories. On a couple of occasions I thought "woudn't it be nice to have a place to share some of this stuf" but wanted it to be private. A Facebook Group would be a logical choice, but I've been off that for years. This site ?requires? a Google account, which most Android phone users will have, but many of the e-mail accounts I have for the family are Yahoo or AOL, so if this doesn't work we can look to an alternative. So, for now, I created a private blog where the authors (read that as you all) could share stuff with one another.
I can't promise much for anything I share, only a high volume of grammar and spelling errors /shrug
So, for a test post I thought I'd share the day with mom and dad;
Grant Gary had a bit of a stomache ache and Jude has a rash, so Kent stayed home with the boys and Harmony met us at church. I chauffeured mom and dad in the Buick and met Harm there. Nice church, very welcoming, and the deacons delivered communion to the older folks in the back of the church. Dad spied a newborn infant and offered them a hand-made baby blanket, Dawn handmade a variety of them that he keeps in the car, they graciously accepted. Good way to make friends, although dad's approach is normally a bit short; sometimes the parents don't know what's going on, this time I let them know where and why he's rushing to the car for such a gift.
After church, they went to the dining room and I ran errands in the Buick pimp-mobile. After lunch, mom and I went into the activity room and read a few chapters of 'The Shack'.
After that, we straightened up some loose boxes and ran through mom's hanger clothes, putting the ones that don't fit into a box for donation. I've now seen more of my mom's rack than any son ever should *whince* I'll leave the trying on of pants to one of you lucky suckers.
Boxes, and boxes, and boxes of photos. We're thinking of unpackaging them and scanning the lot. If we do, I'd really appreciate some help with tagging the photos...a crapton of work.
Anther little finding today, dad had a box of old stuff: navy knives, old lures, and an old Bible. Asked dad about it and he didn't recognize it. Mom took a peek and found the family history pages (in the middle), turns out it was grandmas. I'm pretty sure that this Bible was in the same box and the lures and knives. I wonder of any of dad's siblings know anything about them.
Final thought, I may have sent this out, but couple more photos. Someone brought baby goats to The Lodge.
Feel free to share anything you want on this blog. You all *should* have authoring permissions.
cheers
